Celebrate Black History Month

This just in from fellow JEer, Roz Romney:

A few months ago, a friend invited me to read a story aloud at a school as part of Rosa Parks Day.

It was so easy and tons of fun and the kids acted like you were some kind of God-Celebrity for coming in and reading them a book for half an hour.

Well now there's a city-wide effort to celebrate Black History Month and the SF Education Fund is trying to get tons of volunteers to read next Friday the 24th at schools all over the city.

It happens first thing in the morning, so it really doesn't mess up your work day - plus you can feel smug for doing something awesome.

They do ask people to sign up for a very quick and easy orientation beforehand, but it's really not that bad.

A million thanks!
